2015 – another exciting year ahead!

Welcome to the new year. Its been a busy year already, and requests for quotes are coming in thick and fast.  I’ve updated my gallery, and whilst they are not in a category order, they do show off some of the many varied styles that I work with.

I’ve had a few challenging cake, a few fun ones, and some that took a lot longer than they should of!! But they all taste yummy, and all my customers have been super happy with them.  Here are few that were quite memorable for me, and hope that you will pop over to my gallery to check out the new additions!

Remember you can contact me via my contact page, or else email me leanne@createmeacake.com.au

I’m situated in Ingle Farm South Australia, but can deliver you cake to your venue if needed. Look forward to hearing from you!

A year has passed….

Wow, its been so long since I have posted on here! I have made many cakes over the past year, my gallery has recently been updated with some of the newer cakes, and we still have to update quite a few more photots to put up for you all to see!

One of my favourites this year has been the black and white ruffle cake.Ruffle_Cake_1Such a pretty cake with lots of ruffles and a beautiful topper and flower. This was for a 30th birthday, but this sort of cake could be for a wedding or an engagement, and the colours can be modified to suit your theme.

Spring is coming up, and places are booking fast for cakes, such a great time of year to have a party in a park with friends and family. I look forward to posting some newer photos for you soon!

Its Elmo Time!

Not much posting lately – have been so busy work Full time and making cakes in the evening.  This weeks cake was a bright fun cake for a friend who lives in Melbourne.  Her darling boy Sam turned 1 and of course it was time to celebrate.

So Elmo came to party! Jumping out the cake to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!

I love making bright fun cakes like this – it makes me smile, and makes those who get the cake happy and cheery too. This was a half caramel mud cake, and half chocolate mud cake with Milk Chocolate ganache.  6 inches high and 9 inches in diameter – it was a huge cake!! But it looked awesome once it was complete.

Wheelie Bin Cake

This weeks cake was certainly a challenge, but I think it turned out quite well.

The brief was for a recycle wheelie bin for a 2yo that likes bins. A special request for the City of Mitcham logo on the front, and also to make it ‘fun’. After a bit of thinking, this is what I came up with

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA6 layers of a mix of chocolate mud and caramel mud cake with milk chocolate ganache, with a covering of fondant to get the great green colour.  All the items were made my me, and included a cereal box, newspaper, milk carton, tin cans, wine bottle and book.  Edible images were used for the Mitcham logo, as well as the recycle logo on the sides of the bin. A trail of ants crawling up the back of the bin finished it off.

Wheelie Bin 4Novelty cakes are lots of fun, especially when they can be personalised for the customer. I loved making this cake, I learnt lots of different techniques, and had a lot of fun making it.

A bright and fun 21st cake

The brief was one that was right up my alley…

No bows, no pink, no flowers, not formal, nice and bright but not garish…. Yep I thought, this will suit me just fine!  And only having 4 days to get it all together for 70 people was a challenge in itself, but I did achieve!

Happy 21st Stella! The figurine was a last minute addition, and is a representation of the birthday girl’s field of study – Chemistry.  A lab coat and a conical flask with exploding spirals of colours behind her made for that something extra on the top.

The cake itself is a 10″ and 7″ dark chocolate mud cake with white chocolate/raspberry ganache between the layers of cake, and dark chocolate ganache on the outside and around the cake. Covered in fondant and lots of stripes!  The chemist figurine is made of fondant, and will set hard and be able to be kept.

I loved making this cake – it was bright and fun (and I learned to love my steel ruler that little bit more), and the birthday girl and all her party people thoroughly enjoyed it.

Gardens and bugs

This weeks cute cake was a for a working mum with 2 young boys.  Little boys usually love bugs, so thought a cake filled with a few different ones would suits them well! All creatures are edible fondant, and the cake is chocolate mud with dark chocolate ganache.

Whats a garden without bugs!

Hello world – its cake time!

Such a change in events has led me here – back to the world of blogging, but this time in totally different circumstance!

Welcome to Create Me A Cake !!

Create Me A Cake is all about creating fun and funky cakes (although traditional and pretty are also included) for the people of Adelaide.  I am following my passion and my dreams to start this business, having left my job as a senior manager and now running my own small business doing something I enjoy.

I want to make cakes that people love to look at and love to eat. I’m keen to experiment, and try all sorts of different ideas. Creating cakes is about imagination and playing around, so I hope that I can one day create something for you!!
